FRIDAY IMPART – strictly Motivational
(Eric Beeka speaks)
Piece Title: MY HOME, MY FIRST FIELD
I have listened to many ambitious stories;
I have seen and heard ambitious youths discuss their ambitions with vigour;
I was opportune to grow up among ambitious people;
I have sat under ambitious men and women whose job is to develop ambitious young minds
I have listened to several public speakers at seminars and religious gatherings who emphasize on the need for especially youths to make the world hear about them;
I have sat at television programmes where presenters emphasize on the need for visions and/or ambitions to be globally celebrated.
From all my experiences, the significant stresses have always been on earning a global status which seem to be the height of an accomplished ambition.
I want to quickly state that: to some, “the world” may just be our immediate vicinity and nothing more!
Just to inform us as well, I have also read the biographies of deceased ambitious adults, bearing statements like “until his death, he was passionate about becoming a world class…”
I usually would ponder on why an adult who died above age 50 would have a statement of a totally unaccomplished ambition, attached to his life story.
The paradox of this piece is that it elucidates and as well condemns certain impressions behind becoming a “great person” in life.
Can I sincerely inform us, that one of the evidences that a man may likely become a GLOBAL FIGURE tomorrow is the worth of great impact he already has AT HOME, today!
In other words, if you do well at home, you may likely do well abroad. Your home, is your first field.
It is factual that the great person you want to become tomorrow must first be felt by your immediate vicinity before it can spread out; and so if up until now, there is no trace whatsoever of your impact in relation to your ambition, on your immediate environs, then! Your ambition of becoming a great person is gradually becoming a mirage. This is because:
“The future is not a place
We are going, it is rather a place
We are creating”….. Kayode Babatope
Take it from me, “the world” cannot be the first to hear about you.
If your immediate vicinity has not heard about you, the world cannot hear about you.
On the other hand, it is not until you are recognised by the authorities of the world that it could be said that you have impacted the world!
Hear me, You don’t have to travel round the world to become a global figure. Light does not showoff in darkness. Darkness announces it Automatically.
If your impact can attract the commendations of your immediate vicinity, with consistency and strategy, the whole world will soon celebrate you.
On a conclusive note and on another hand, I want us to note, that as we live life, many great men and women never gain celebrity status; they do their deeds in relative obscurity, without sounding gunge, yet their contributions profoundly impact the lives of those who come after them.
I don’t prefer so much empty fame
that may know slander anytime soon.
I am most concerned about the impressions I leave on people.
#WISDOM is profitable to direct.
